Why we built RingyDing

RingyDing is built on a simple belief: there are people in the world who genuinely want to make a stranger's birthday wonderful, and people who'd love to receive that call. We just built the thing that connects them.

Somewhere between those two groups, a lot of birthdays go quieter than they should.

It's safe, warm, and free to use. No subscription required, no catch. Just real people, making each other's day.

Trust & Safety

Wishers are regular people, often adult children or grandchildren wanting to do something meaningful for someone's birthday, or simply kind-hearted people who enjoy spreading joy. Every user on RingyDing is verified. We also use AI-powered content moderation to keep interactions warm and appropriate.

Safety is our top priority. You can end any call at any time with one tap. You can report any user immediately after a call, and our team reviews every report. Reported users can be warned, suspended, or permanently banned, and device-level bans mean they can't simply create a new account. You are always in control.

Using RingyDing

RingyDing is designed with simplicity as a priority, large text, clear buttons, and a warm, uncluttered layout. If you can make a FaceTime call, you can use RingyDing. And when you sign up for the waitlist, we'll send you a step-by-step guide before launch so you feel confident from day one.

Not at all. As a Celebrant, you set your own availability windows, the times and days when you're happy to receive calls. Outside of those windows, no calls will come through. And even within an availability window, you can always decline an incoming call with one tap, no explanation needed.

We thought about this. RingyDing surfaces friendly conversation prompt cards during every call, questions and topics tailored to the Celebrant's interests (things like their favourite films, travel memories, or hobbies). The prompts are there when you need them and easy to ignore when the conversation is already flowing. Most callers find the awkwardness lasts about 10 seconds.

No separate signup, and no separate account. Every RingyDing member is both: on your own birthday, you're a Celebrant receiving calls; on someone else's, you can open the app and be their Wisher. Joining the waitlist below sets you up for both sides from day one.

Eligibility & Launch

We're putting the finishing touches on RingyDing now and planning a soft launch very soon. Join the waitlist to be among the first to know, and to secure your Founding Celebrant status before we open to the public.

Not exclusively, though Celebrants tend to be older adults who love the idea of receiving a birthday call. Anyone who wants to be celebrated is welcome, and anyone can be a Wisher. The app is designed to be especially easy to use for people who didn't grow up with smartphones. You must be 18 or older to use RingyDing, regardless of which role you take.

RingyDing is currently available for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. An Android version is on our roadmap.

Founding Celebrants are the first people to sign up as Celebrants before the app officially launches. They get permanent recognition in the app, priority access on launch day, and a personalised countdown to their first birthday call. It's our way of saying thank you to the people who believed in RingyDing from the very beginning.
